What Is CP?

CP is short for cerebral palsy. CP is a permanent disorder of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitations. There is no known cure for CP. There are many different stages of cerebral palsy. Some children must rely on the assistance of a wheel chair or walker to be able to walk, other children may be able to walk on their own but with some difficulty. Children often go through a lot of physical therapy to help them improve their walking skills.


What’s It Like Having CP?

A child with CP is not really different from any other child. A child with CP can attend public school and participate in most activities. A child with CP does not look in appearance any different than other children. A child with CP will require assistance in walking or navigating around his or her surrounding.
